Matt Farrell: Then why you doing this?
John McClane: Because there's no body else to do it right now, that's why. Believe me, if there were somebody else to do it, I'd let them do it, but there's not. So we're doing it.
Matt Farrell: Ah. That's what makes you that guy. "

Words To Live By
"The era of small government is over ... government has to be more proactive, more aggressive." ( Tim Pawlenty 2006)

"You're just petty politicians, who'd sooner sign onto the wisdom of a tyrant in another country, than the demands of ticked off voters in your own." (Neil Cavuto June 2008)

“I didn’t question her patriotism. I questioned her judgment.” Mr. Cheney went on: “The point I made and I’ll make it again is that Al Qaeda functions on the basis that they think they can break our will. That’s their fundamental underlying strategy, that if they can kill enough Americans or cause enough havoc, create enough chaos in Iraq, then we’ll quit and go home. And my statement was that if we adopt the Pelosi policy, that then we will validate the strategy of Al Qaeda. I said it, and I meant it.” (Vice President Cheney NYT Feb. 2007)

"A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers. (Ronald Reagan March 1, 1975)

"Oh, no! First of all, if I took one vote away from a serious candidate, it would be a sin." (Al Franken Time Magazine, 9/1/03)

Obama Was In Town For Franken & Dayton After All

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2014

Oh look, I guess President Obama was in town for the Franken Dayton event.

Franken FLOTUS Obama

Franken Can’t Have It Both Ways On Iraq

Thursday, September 4th, 2014

Senator Al Franken got elected, in large part for the backlash against Republicans for the war in Iraq. He was a chief proponent of lobbying criticism at the decision to go to war. Now that chaos is spreading in the middle east due to the US doing what Al Franken wanted (IE: Leaving), and Iraq and Syria are falling to radical extremists, was Al Franken’s 2008 campaign rhetoric the right prescription, but more importantly, what does now – Sen. Franken have to say to a Democrat President faced with tough choices on national security and the growing global risk of radical Islam?

Great video by the MNGOP highlighting the hypocrisy of Democrats on Iraq and threats of doing nothing.

Hey MPR Fact Check This

Thursday, August 28th, 2014

If MPR’s Catherine Richert thinks Jeff Johnson stating facts is misleading, maybe she can take a peak into one of Al Franken’s fundraising emails dripping with misleading statements and flat out lies. Take this morning’s fear mongering for instance.

Dear Andrew,

I don’t have to tell you that Fundraising Email Threat Inflation is a real concern.

Of course, if I wanted to keep pace with the frantic tone of everything else in your inbox these days, I’d probably say thatFUNDRAISING EMAIL THREAT INFLATION IS STANDING OUTSIDE YOUR FRONT DOOR WITH A BUCKET OF LIGHTER FLUID AND A BOOK OF MATCHES RIGHT NOW!!!!!

But, here’s the thing: We don’t need to exaggerate what we’re up against in this campaign.

[...]

I’m sure you don’t need blinking lights and siren GIFs to understand what’s at stake here.

If we let our opponents have their way, they will turn Medicare into a voucher system. They will continue to reward companies for shipping jobs overseas. They will let the most radical voices on the far right block any action on immigration reform or climate change. They will shut down the government again the next time the Tea Party tells them to.

And if we don’t hit our fundraising goals, the Koch brothers and their allies will buy this Senate seat, just like they have in other parts of the country. My opponent has already turned a Koch check into an attack ad against me — and the special interest groups are targeting me, as well. And with the race already in single digits, according to two recent polls, we really do have no margin for error.

Come on MPR, prove to the public that you aren’t biased and in the bag for Democrats. I dare you to actually fact check this.

P.S.: No need to make the threat sound any scarier than it really is: The Koch brothers want to buy this election for my opponent so he can vote for their right-wing policies. I think that’s reason enough to take action:

I triple dog dare you Ms. Reichert.

Vote Early Minnesota!

Tuesday, June 24th, 2014

Now that we have “no excuse absentee voting” anyone can vote in the Primary or General election with out the nuisance of going to your poll and actually interacting with the world around you…..

I just requested my absentee ballots and you should too. Please go here and find out how and share with your friends, family, and co-workers.

We can win back this state if we can get people to go back to voting. Its up to each and every one of us!

No seriously, don’t wait, don’t do it later. Request your absentee ballot and fill it out and send it back the day it arrives. No more excuses!

Every vote counts and is needed to defeat Dayton, Franken, and retake the Minnesota house!

(PS: Don’t be an idiot and waste your vote on some 3rd party protest thing. Remember Al Franken won by just 312 votes and Mark Dayton won by only 8000.)

Voting like a teenage prankster has consequences and we are all paying for it.

$2.1 Billion a month – Where Does the Obamacare Bribe Money Come From?

Wednesday, June 18th, 2014

The same people who refuse to repair that crumbling bridge your kid’s school bus crosses everyday because they say they just don’t have enough revenue coming in yet, wants to run your health care. Many of us pointed out the flawed funding formulas and unsustainability of unicorn farts and happy thoughts fueling the drive before and after the law was rushed through Congress without anyone even reading the bill, but we were scoffed at and told we were just mean bad people.

Well, it looks like the mean bad people were the ones lying to implement the hoax that is now Obamacare.

The large subsidies for health insurance that helped fuel the successful drive to sign up some 8 million Americans for coverage under the Affordable Care Act may push the cost of the law considerably above current projections, a new federal report indicates.

Nearly 9 in 10 Americans who bought health coverage on the federal government’s healthcare marketplaces received government assistance to offset their premiums.

90% of the signups had to be bribed into doing so. Where does that bribe money come from people?

Premiums that normally would have cost $346 a month on average instead cost consumers just $82, with the federal government picking up the balance of the bill.

8 million Obamacare enrollees X $264 subsidized monthly premium (aka bribe) = $2,112,000,000  A MONTH

Oh the math gets far worse….

That total does not count the additional cost of providing coverage to millions of additional consumers who bought coverage in states that ran their own marketplaces, including California, Connecticut, Maryland and New York. About a third of the 8 million people who signed up for coverage this year used a state-run marketplace.

The fact is no one really knows.

The Congressional Budget Office estimated in April that the annual cost of subsidies will rise to $23 billion next year and $95 billion in 2024, although the budget office continued to project that all the law’s costs will be offset by additional revenue it raises and by cuts in other federal healthcare spending.

But hey, don’t worry, we’ll make up for it in other areas….

Which gets me back to that crumbling bridge they say they don’t have the money to fix.

Folks, someday, you will be that bridge that they can’t afford to fix if you allow Government to take over your health care system.

BenghaziGate – Blame America First, Lie Second

Monday, May 5th, 2014

Here’s a great video from Jeff Davis about the timeline of the Benghazi attacks and subsequent coverup.

Its shameful that Obama is still in office and that anyone who worked for him during and after Benghazi is even considering running for office in the future.

Will The Real Julianne Please Stand Up?

Wednesday, April 30th, 2014

Julianne Ortman is waging a firebrand conservative campaign for the US Senate. She’s constantly claiming the high ground on conservative issue after issue, but her record doesn’t always back up her new found “principles” if you ask me.

Take our 2nd Amendment rights for instance, she claims to be the champion of gun rights, but she doesn’t own guns and refuses to even allow them in her home. Its hard to take her 2A bonafides seriously if she doesn’t walk the walk.

The US Senate is taking up the President’s $10.10 minimum wage hike today. Where does Julianne Ortman stand not he issue?

Q: What is your opinion on an increase in the minimum wage?

Ortman: Increasing the minimum wage will translate into fewer entry level positions and hours, and also higher costs. The increased costs of doing business get passed along to consumers and/or labor. There are better ways to encourage investment, stable hiring, and job growth.

[Source: Chaska Herald Feb 26, 2014]

She’s against raising the minimum wage because it would increase the cost of doing business.

Out of no where, former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty waded back into the political fray and gave his opinion on the Minimum wage debate taking police.

“If you’re going to talk the talk about being for the middle class and the working person, if we have the minimum wage, it should be reasonably adjusted from time to time,” said Pawlenty, now the CEO of the Financial Services Roundtable, a bank lobbying firm.

[Source: MinnPost Apr 30, 2014]

Many of you will remember that Pawlenty signed a Minimum Wage increase into law when he was Governor in 2005. Conveniently, Julianne Ortman was a State Senator in 2005 and voted on the increase.

Given her staunch conservative stance in 2014, surely State Senator Ortman voted against the minimum wage increase…..

Senate floor vote
May 3, 2005 (SF3)

Workers who make the minimum wage are in line for a $1 an hour raise in August, following a Minnesota Senate vote that affirmed a compromise approved by the House and supported by Gov. Tim Pawlenty. The measure passed the Senate 44-22.

Result: Passed

Julianne E. Ortman Republican 34 FOR

[Source: MPR Vote Tracker]

Ortman’s 2014 campaign sounds great. She is making herself sound like a conservative champion who will go into the trenches and fight liberalism with her last dying breath, but her record doesn’t back up her new found principles.

Her career rating from the Minnesota Legislative Evaluation Association is only 70%.

Here career rating from the Taxpoayer’s League of Minnesota is only 86%.

Does the 2014 US Senate campaign of Julianne Ortman sound like that of a rock solid conservative? Yes.

Does the record of State Senator Julianne Ortman look like that of a rock solid conservative champion? Nope.

Friends, be careful not to let a candidate tell you what you want to hear, deeds speak louder then words.

Radical Leftwing Congressman Who Hangs Out With Socialist….

Tuesday, April 29th, 2014

Exactly who does the DFL hang out with while throwing partisan bombs?

“What I am proposing is a political revolution in this country.” – US Sen. Bernie Sanders

The latest DFL fundraising email is just another example of pot meet kettle.

Our party is doing amazing work in Minnesota right now (of course I don’t want to diminish that!) but complacency is a dangerous side effect of success. We can’t let it become our downfall.

Right now, we are being attacked by the GOP on all sides.

Republicans will stop at nothing to take back the state legislature, and our DFL leaders are big targets for them. Mitch McConnell wants to buy Al Franken’s seat to help Republicans take control of the Senate. And Michele Bachmann is pushing for fellow Tea Partier Tom Emmer to replace her in the House as Bachmann 2.0.

We can’t let Republicans take control and reverse all the progress we’ve made. If we’re going to stop them, we need your help to meet our $15,000 goal by April 30. Will you give today?

Minnesota Republicans think they can win back the governor’s mansion and the state legislature this year, and we all know what will happen if they succeed: More government shutdowns and backward policies. They’ll do everything they can to repeal all the progress we’ve made on workers’ rights, women’s rights, voters’ rights and marriage equality. We can’t let that happen!

Governor Dayton and the rest of the DFL leadership need our help and they need it now. With help from DFLers like you, we stood up to the GOP in 2012 and won. Can I count on you again in 2014?

Thank you for helping me and the DFL show the Republicans that we won’t back down!

Rep. Keith Ellison

On Sunday Ellison held a Fundraiser with Sen. Bernie Sanders an open socialist who is calling for a political revolution in the United States.

It is time for the DFL to stop getting a free pass on just how radical and left wing they are. Their Congressional Delegation is among the most liberal. Their Legislative leaders are on the far left fringe of Minnesota Democrats, yet they are allowed to pretend to be main stream.

They seek to divide this country and silence any opposing thought, especially those that believe in liberty, freedom, private property, and personal responsibility. Oddly, the very things our Founders fought for over 200 years ago.

Progressive when it comes to politics has nothing to do with forward looking policies, they are aiming to take us backwards, to a society of calculated outcomes and socialism. It disgusts me that they are allowed to attack freedom loving people like Bachmann and Emmer while they are trying to shred the Constitution and redistribute the wealth of our nation and spread the misery around.

Democrats Want You Addicted To Government

Wednesday, April 16th, 2014

The DFL sent out a fundraising email this morning and in the very first sentence tells you all you need to know about the agenda of that left wing party.

50 million Americans currently rely on Medicare and that number is rising every year [...]

Democrats think more people dependent on Government is a good thing. That’s the fundamental difference between Republicans and Democrats.

Republicans want people to be able to take care of themselves, Democrats want people to have no other choice but to rely on Government. Period!

Democrats Easily Tap Into “Seven Figure Checkbooks”

Wednesday, March 26th, 2014

Another email from the left wing Agenda Project.

Hi Andy,

Nancy Pelosi and a few big thinking donors could save the Senate, pick up seats in the House, generate hundreds of millions of dollars of earned media for a progressive economic agenda, and fundamentally re-shape the national political narrative. But only if they move fast enough to seize the best investment opportunity in the political marketplace before it’s too late.

To learn how, read more HERE.

Jump to the story in Huffington Post describing just how easy it is for Democrats to call in the uber rich donors.

Pelosi — and maybe only Pelosi — can close the funding for this critical investment. In addition to being the highest-ranking female political leader in U.S. history; Pelosi is also one of the best fund raisers in the country. Better yet, her San Francisco district puts her smack in the middle of a Silicon Valley culture that understands thinking big and moving fast. The kind of money needed for the ballot initiative can’t be raised in $50-100K checks. There isn’t enough time. Instead a few savvy political investors — ones who are smart enough to recognize the unique leverage of this specific initiative and gutsy enough to be decisive — need to pull out their seven figure checkbooks.

The media narrative that the Republicans are the party of the rich is hogwash. Its time to remind Minnesota voters that a vote for any DFLer running for Congress is a vote for the radical Nancy Pelosi and her friends who like to buy elections and power with their “seven figure checkbooks”.
