You Don’t Want To See Me Angry

I sent this email to a critic today. I felt it appropriate to share for a wider viewing audience here on RF.

I’m not angry. You wouldn’t like to see me angry. But I understand that’s the standard issue talking point used against me. Started with Carey/Sutton/Brodkorb and continues on with the destroyers.

I’m not angry, I’m passionate for the conservative cause. I care so about it, the issues it stands for, so it pains me to see people wasting time, energy, and resources. And I say that from experience. I thought I could change the party back a few years ago, but I ended up making it worse by empowering Carey/Sutton/Brodkorb of staying in power. And here we are now with a party that can’t even afford field staff….

Perfect? Not me nor the party right now, but its what we have to work with and its better than the alternative. “Breaking” or destroying the party for the sake of revenge or simply to start from scratch is insanity.

I’m disappointed so many people think that complaining is activism. That meetings where a few people hold microphones and never bother to educate that crowd sitting listening on how to actually win elections… Or for BPOU leaders to think that their job wasn’t to elect their candidates. Or CD leaders that just simply shutter their districts like 4 & 5.

With power comes great responsibility.

If only those who could do something would do something rather than just bitch. Because its easy to bitch, again I can say that from experience. And the fact is that its easy to plan winning an internal party election. What takes true skill and work is winning a statewide election. That’s why the Ron Paul leaders have bailed on Bills. They point at the Romney endorsement, or Tampa, but they never were going to help him win. Its too hard. Instead its who is going to run for party chair, CD chars, BPOUs, etc.

Well what about November?

Look, I’m not doing what I do because I get paid, its all out of my own pocket. Its taking a toll on my health, my family, and my paying day job.

I’m doing what I am doing because no one else was. There was a cry for help and no one else was answering.

I’m not angry, I’m disappointed to see so many people wasting time running for party office elections to be held next year, plotting, planning, scheming, meeting to discuss how someone made them feel bad.

Me angry?

If you think this is me being angry I guess I am always angry.

But trust me I’ll be really angry if the few of us who do seem to care and are trying end up failing to pick up all the slack and Dayton buys his Legislature. Then you will see me be angry.

Look, just because we don’t talk about that 800 pound elephant in the corner, doesn’t mean that its not still there.

Today’s RF Post Was

Deleted by me.

Nov 17th.

The orchestrated demise of the MNGOP

How some people are more interested in planning for conventions and their own elections as leaders than for winning elections for lawmakers.

But I deleted it because, well, we wouldn’t want to anger the people not showing up, now would we ?

After all, we have to be about the big tent and welcome these destroyers.

I now have to get to work work them give away another 30 or 40 hours of my personal evening and weekend time.

Larry Jacobs Never Thought CD6 Was A Close One

Professor Larry Jacobs of the U of M spoke at the Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce Legislative Breakfast this morning. Now I didn’t exactly agree with some of his interpretations. I believe most media and commentators in Minnesota lean left, and often tell you just enough of the truth to seem credible, but put a good spin on things to favor Democrats.

Anyways, at the end during the Q & A, Republican CD5 candidate Chris Fields asked Jacobs to explain why the media doesn’t cover incumbent Congressman’s races. It was follow up of sorts on how the statewide and Presidential races are not competitive and tweren’t garnering as much attention as usual – except for how the Presidential is with in 4 points and Romney “doesn’t even have an office or any ground game” in the state and the statewide candidate in MN isn’t able to get any traction, but I digress.

Jacobs mentioned to Fields that in those races where the challenger is running in an unfavorable District against an incumbent, you have to do something to make the press think its competitive and worth covering. Which I understand, it costs money to cover the news after all. Jacobs mentioned the media stereotype of “if it bleeds it leads”.

Jacobs said that Democrat CD6 challenger Jim Graves releasing his internal polls showing it was very close was a clever way to get attention, but that Jacobs never thought it was really that close and the independent KSTP poll showed Bachmann with a 9 point lead.

Jacobs went on to explain that the old 6th District was a very red District and that after redistricting it got even redder. Clearly its not nearly as competitive as Graves and Democrats would like to believe.

So it seems that I’m being proven right again in this election cycle. Some of those other things were also confirmed by Jacobs, like how damaging it was for Kurt Bills’ campaign manager to be calling Senator Klobuchar names in such a divisive way and how that will be a problem down ticket.

Among other things.

I guess the question is will Democrats waste resources in the 6th District again this year?

More Bad News On Obama’s Foreign Policy Priorities

Its too bad to check.

In a May 3, 2012, email, the State Department denied a request by a group of Special Forces assigned to protect the U.S. embassy in Libya to continue their use of a DC- 3 airplane for security operations throughout the country.

The subject line of the email, on which slain Ambassador Chris Stevens was copied, read: “Termination of Tripoli DC-3 Support.”

Four days later, on May 7, the State Department authorized the U.S. embassy in Vienna to purchase a $108,000 electric vehicle charging station for the embassy motor pool’s new Chevrolet Volts. The purchase was a part of the State Department’s “Energy Efficiency Sweep of Europe” initiative, which included hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars on green program expenditures at various U.S. Embassies.

This is the insanity of Obama. He refused to send reinforcements to keep American diplomats safe and instead money keeping others green.

I’m almost speechless, and for me, that’s bad.

Exactly how does this happen? Well I know its what happens when liberals are put in charge, but still how can sane humans with functioning brains allow it to happen when they had to know that lives were at risk? Was their cult worship of environmentalism blinding them from their duty to keep Americans safe? Again, I know the answer to that one.

If Amy Klobuchar wants to politicize a tragedy for her campaign she should go kick in the door of the State Department and demand answers.

Must walk away from keyboard….

The Answer Is “Suckers”

What are Minnesotans who voted for Amy Klobuchar in 2006, Alex?

Minnesotans were promised that Amy Klobuchar would ask tough questions and she’d go get things done in 2006. Well here we are in 2012 and she is actually saying that in order for her to make good on her promises, we’ll have to give her another 6 year term (and over $1 million in salary btw) for her to begging working on the national debt.

I am not sure she ever gave a stump speech in 2006 with out hitting the line about how we’re paying billions a month in just interest on the national debt…. 6 years later and she says we just need to give her more time.

Good News Bad News About Obama’s Lies

The good news is that he was completely lying when he said the murder of a US Ambassador was just a spontaneous riot sparked by a youtube video.

The bad news is that his first instinct was to respond to the terrorist attack that caused the death of Americans was to blame Americans.

How can Obama even look himself in the mirror?

To recap, there was a planned terrorist attack on the anniversary of September 11th, and Obama decided to blame Americans for it, stuck with the story, and disgraced America on the world stage.

Why the heck aren’t Congressional candidates being asked about his?

Obama: Dear Comrades In Arms, Now More Than Ever

Whenever I see an Obama or Klobuchar sign as I am driving, rare btw, I say “Der Comerade” in a Dolph Lundgren in Rocky IV kind of accent.

Well today Obama’s Comrades in Arms are going on the offensive by putting on their rose colored glasses and regurgitating the White House spin on the jobs report. Which of course doesn’t add up, but the loyal lapdogs in Congress like Senator Klobuchar and their left wing allies in the media are counting on Americans’ short attention spans and hoping they don’t bother to fact check the o-called Government watchdogs and truth meters in the media.

You see, everything these radical Communists… I’m sorry…. progressives…  have been fighting for for the last 50 years is on the line, can they drive the final nail in the coffin of what once was the greatest nation on the planet by killing its economy once and for all by sending Obama back for a second term to finish the job? Or as some Hollywood folks say….”In the second term, its on”

Obamacare isn’t the solution to Health Care, its the trojan horse that destroys private health systems and requires the Government to step in.

As is the case in most industries, free markets are overruled by the Government picking the winners.

According to Obama in his debate this week, its wrong to allow Exxon and oil companies to get a “subsidy” or tax break while still actually producing a product Americans need, but its ok to spend ten times that on green energy non-science (as opposed to non-sense) like Solyndra and the countless other Democrat donating green energy companies who took taxpayer money but are belly up and not producing a single watt of energy.

I could go on, the point is do not let the headlines get to you, they are being crafted by the enemy of America as we know it.

Friends don’t let friends listen to the MSM. Now more than ever we need to make sure Americans know the truth. We can’t afford four more years of Obama and Democrats in control.

I could go on, point is folks, its crunch time. If you care about America you can’t sit back and complain. You need to affect the change. You need to step forward and show Obama and Democrats that you don’t agree that Government is the solution. You need to help convince others how bad things really are.

Obama and Democrats have multi billion dollar media empires who get to broadcast his version of reality 24 hours a day…

UH OH….. The 6 Am to 10PM daily grind of a full time job and every other waking moment being volunteered to stop Obama is unleashing the AAARF in me…..

Is it something that we cannot overcome? Maybe, but does that mean we just lay down and let America die a slow death at the hands of socialists and nanny state bureaucrats and aristocrats?

No, stand up America and let your voices be heard, stand up and join together with others working to change the course of history. Stand up and make sure Obama is a one term President.

Join the fight, we can overcome all odds, but we need your help.

We are outnumbered in the GOTV trenches by the unions and special interests of the left but we stand on the right side of the battle, where liberty and freedom reside. If we all work together we can stop Obama and Democrats.

We truly need your help. We have 33 days to save America.

I beg of you to volunteer your time or donate to good groups like, say… CD6 where we are the tip of the spear going toe to toe with the people trying to destroy America.

We will keep working, with or with out you because America is too important to just lie down and do nothing because we are too busy or you don’t like to make calls or…..

This is it. Now or never. Come help us make calls, lit drop, door knock, donate, lawnsigns.

This is it. 33 days until the election. 33 days to see if we can save America from another mistake.

I need you, America needs you.

At 8PM on November 6th, I will know that I did everything with in my power to do something. Do you think I enjoy burning up my own fuel driving around the 6th District? No, but it needed to be done.

What are you doing?

Why Yes I Have Had Enough But Its Not Me Its You

Do I even need to try to explain why this is quite literally the dumbest thing ever said by a Republican? Well, short of I have a wide stance, but still. In a time when conservtives are rallying against the socialist movement operating under the Occupy Walltreet banner. You think its wise for a struggling candidate to piss off the very people he can’t afford to lose?

No wait, it gets worse. Check out the fundraising email….

Klobuchar ads prove she is so proud to showcase rewarding her millionaire friends who max out to her campaign.

Think about it, Paul Walser makes millions and her bailout of him has made him even richer…while her vote for the largest middle class tax increase in American history hurts every day families and made them poorer.

I will be proud when we beat her by raising money $5, and $10 at a time. We can take our country back from crony capitalists like Klobuchar.

Read the release, and please consider a $5 or $10 contribution to my campaign.

Klobuchars’ millionaires’ bailouts should not be funded by taxing middle class families.

Your small sacrifice will send a loud message: WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH.

Kurt Bills

My head is about to explode. How dare Walser be successful and try to save his business. The nerve. If you too want to make sure no one dares to get rich in America, vote for Kurt Bills.

Honest to God, you cannot seriously be OK with your name being associated with this Kurt. Please tell me that this is a wayward manager trying to through a hailmary from his own end zone, and that you truly don’t agree with the occupy wall street theology.

Shoulda Woulda Coulda

Just heard Pete Hegseth on Davis & Emmer showing off his first hand experience and understanding on foreign policy.

You can hear him say the phrase ‘residual forces’ if you listen to the podcast. You may understand the true meaning of the name of this blog by doing so. Podcast link You’ll want the 10/2/2012 7AM segment.

As you were.

Its Time For Serious Change At The Bills Campaign

I’m sorry to not let this go and just “get over it”, because it really bothers me. So here goes.

Dear Kurt Bills,

Your campaign can’t attack the news paper. Your campaign manager can’t lash out and claim favoritism and question the journalistic standards of the largest paper in the state.

Should it be done? Sure, but by the party maybe, bloggers for sure, and through letters to the editor from supporters, not an angry salvo with your header on it signed by your campaign manager.

This is something that even I learned over my years watching from the cheap seats.

Is the Star Tribune left leaning? Absolutely. Any honest person can sit back and compare the coverage of Bachmann, Ellison both “extreme in their own right and left principles…. something you don’t see in the failed liberal paper. Again, I can say that, Kurt Bills and his official campaign cannot.

Think of how the Strib covered Coleman to how it does Franken.  Klobuchar  now as the person in power to Mark Kennedy back in 2006, the roles reversed and so has the coverage. Emmer vs. Dayton with this unserious Tom Horner thrown in simply to confuse people who may accidently be draqwn to conservatism. You know, the only politicians who can really sell liberalism is the ones who call themselves independents or Republicans……

It doesn’t take a Doctorate or fancy tittle from a University to see there is a rush to debunk any GOP claim and aid any DFLer in most of the MSM today.

But your campaign manager can’t say “its daddy’s paper” or make prom queen references”. Your campaign manager also can’t say a newspaper is “Pravda on the Mississippi or if he does, he needs to do so with class, professionalism, and in a way that voters will take to heart. Throwing grenades often makes a huge mess and scares people.

And if the manager can’t find the right words to discredit the results with out looking like a two-bit bitter blogger, the manager can tell others who have the media’s ear to say it. Hey look, I found a better way.

Are most polls in Minnesota slanted to favor Democrats by over sampling? Yes. Next question.

But no. You’ve been releasing these polls showing you down but following the Welsstone way so you are banking on polling already so now you can’t make the pivot that you had to know you would need to. Its not like you are the first candidate to ever run statewide. Someone had to clue you in that this day would be coming and an angry screed was not the answer.

I’ve been on record that Mike Osskopp has got to be let go from the Kurt Bills campaign and I feel even stronger that it is not too late. But his resignation must be taken by Monday. And it should be public at this point now that his own behavior is now overshadowing the candidate’s.

When your opponent can basically say that they aren’t even going to acknowledge you for your crazy comments or can elude to the less than professional campaign manager, you’ve already lost. Its and it is time for local candidates to decide whether or not they want to be associated with you because they still have a chance.

When your name is on the lawnsigns and ballot, what your campaign, and staffers do on your behalf does reflects on you. Do the right thing Kurt Bills and get someone who knows what the heck they are doing. There’s still time. Its not personal, this is politics and you as the candidate need to consider this a business decision. It didn’t work, time to move on and part ways while you still have a chance.

Its time for a come to Jesus meeting Kurt Bills.

A major shake up like this could be used to draw positive attention to you, that maybe voters should give you a second chance and hey look, youre serious now. Attention gained, good or bad, but while all eyes are on you, make people see you are serious by handing out pink slips to anyone who approved that release, and say….

“Let me talk to you about the federal spending and budget deficits and how Amy Klobuchar has helped them go our of control during her tenure as a US Senator.”

This can be won, you can get back on track, but you have got to make some major internal changes Rep. Bills. I’ve been told to back off and let someone else approach you, that “this sort of thing can’t come from me because you supported Hegseth or ….” Well, every time someone told me to back off, something else was done by Osskopp that gave me that #headdesk feeling.

If you’d like, I’d be happy to talk this over with you personally but I know that unless I say this here, its never going to draw enough attention to make it past your filterers and handlers. Its not personal, this isn’t about you. If I wanted you to lose I’d sit here quietly and do nothing. Heck, I’d regurgitate Osskopp’s releases.

In 2010 someone needed to go kick down the Emmer campaign door and grab Emmer and shake him and say do you realize that this race was yours to lose, you are now losing, but its not too late………. Out of respect for those supposedly so much smarter than me, I sat by quietly.

Well, consider this your unruly office entrance by me in hopes of saving your campaign from itself. You can win this, I’d really like you to win this. But its not going to happen if you continue to allow someone to run your campaign like this.
