Yep. Senator Branden Petersen is my State Senator.
Nope, I do not agree with his decision to co-author the gay marriage bill being presented by the Democrats. I was in the area for a different reason and swung by his office at the Capital to provide Sen. Petersen the chance to do some constituent outreach. Let’s just say, neither of us were swayed. But I thank him for the time to present my opinion and what I think he should do as my State Senator.
I encourage everyone from Senator District 35 to call or visit Senator Petersen and ask him to reconsider.
I would ask only people from SD35 call Petersen.
I know there was an email sent out from a certain someone, but that is not the productive way to change one’s mind. If you live in another District, call YOUR Senator and remind them how you feel on the issue.
Sen. Branden Petersen is in the State Office Building Office 127
Phone: 651-296-3733
Email: sen.branden.petersen@senate.mn
Please be respectful. While we disagreed on this issue, we did so with respect.
Sidenote: It was nice to see some of the other great Senators I’ve gotten to know over the years while I was there. To them I say keep up the good work and go have a talk with Petersen please.

These United Socialist States of America that is.
Tax Code May Be the Most Progressive Since 1979
Published: Saturday, 5 Jan 2013 | 8:52 AM ET
WASHINGTON — With 2013 bringing tax increases on the incomes of a small sliver of the richest Americans, the country’s top earners now face a heavier tax burden than at any time since Jimmy Carter was president.
The last-minute deal struck by the departing 112th Congress raised taxes on a handful of the highest-earning Americans, with about 99.3 percent of households experiencing no change in their income taxes. But the Tax Policy Center estimates that the average family in the top 1 percent will pay a federal tax rate of more than 36 percent this year, up from 28 percent in 2008. That is the highest rate since 1979, at least.
Heck of a job John Boehner.
Why do I dare demean America by calling us socialist? Because “Progressivism” is somewhere between socialism and communism.

Got an email from someone’s HR about the new tax rates.
My response.
Its just the beginning. Even Tom Petters & Bernie Maddow know we are hosed as a country. We can’t even balance the budget in one year, let alone pay down the debt or liabilities.
Congress has 2 months to pretend its all ok. The next fight is the debt ceiling. If it doesn’t get increased, everyone will see massive tax hikes. We’re running over a trillion in the red. All of the tax increases passed on Tuesday don’t come close to bringing in another trillion. When they were talking people earning over $250K a year it ‘supposedly’ would be $82 Billion a year in revenue. They shrunk that pool so it won’t even come that close. To quote Clint Eastwood “This is the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people”
This “deal” will run its course in just weeks. The dangnamit Republicans should have let us go off cliff so cuts would have been made and everyone would have felt the pain of having to pay for kid in the candy store government. Instead everyone is just annoyed but still addicted to the government cheese. Don’t cut my program. Don’t raise MY taxes. Tax that guy over there and give it to me.
Good explanation of the 2% impact.
That’s because payroll taxes will increase on most workers after Congress decided not to reverse an expiration of a payroll tax cut – a development that was largely expected. Payroll taxes rose to 6.2% under the deal, from 4.2% last year.
The nonpartisan Tax Policy Center estimates that 77% of Americans will see higher taxes because of the elimination of the payroll tax cut, meaning $115 billion less in disposable income. …
A household making $50,000 to 75,000 a year will make $822 less this year than last year, according to Rosenberg’s calculations. Those making $75,000 to $100,000 will see $1,206 less in their paychecks, while those making $200,000 to $500,000 will see a drop of $2,711 in their paychecks.

With Republicans Like These, Who Needs Democrats?
If Washington Republicans would spend a few weeks outside of the DC beltway and media cone of disinformation broadcasts from their propaganda machine, they’d realize that America was not salivating at the idea of permanently increasing taxes on our most successful people and businesses making the US less competitive for the best and brightest in this global economy we live in.
If only the Washington Republicans had just looked at the fact that Republicans will be selecting the next Speaker of the US House since they were sent back with a majority in 2012 by voters and the uber liberal Democrats were not…..
Only in the mind of a Washington Republican can you believe that the same voters who allegedly gave Obama and Harry Reid mandates also reelected a Republican House Majority to sit in the corner and rubberstamp socialisms march in America.
Washington Republicans were so paranoid by the pressures of reelection or polling or something that they allowed the media confusion of the issues to force them to literally author a major plank of socialism, redistribution.
From each according to their ability to each according to their needs.
For more bad news and why the McConnell/Boehner deal is so bad read this and this
Of course we also need to be reminded that Government is trying to solve a problem that Government actually created and here we are allowing them to try to fix it but sticking us with a bill for THEIR promises of free this and that.
Spending will continue to skyrocket under this “Republican Plan”. No cuts, no reforms, no sunsetting…. But tax increases are now the law of the land.
With Republicans Like These, Who Needs Democrats?

Rather than keep kicking the can down the road, Obama and Republicans agreed to just kick the fiscal sanity can off a cliff once and for all.
Which is such great news America. Yep, taxes raised on the uber successful… er rich so they can pay “their fair share” which is exponentially higher and a larger share of the overall financial burden than the rest of Americans…. Which we also just saw in France has an equal and opposite result…..
Oh and spending cuts are not an option, and oh yeah, Obama will not take no on a Debt limit increase….
Which is of course, elevating the fiscal cliff America will continue to face…..
Facts have been withheld from this entire fiscal cliff debate. So have honesty and rationality.
America got screwed last night.
Washington avoided accountability for their decades of floating checks and promises for power and to win elections.
Need immigrant voters: Push amnesty and demonize anyone who just wants to secure our porous borders.
Need senior votes: Refuse to address the Medicare & Social Security insolvency problems and demonize anyone who wants to begin the necessary reforms to protect future generations.
Need young vote: Push gay marriage and demonize anyone who wants simply to define traditional marriage by painting them as the evil that wore white hoods and murdered people for their skin color.
Need hard core anti-Capitalist voters: Push for socialist redistribution tax rates and demonize anyone who wants to protect America’s greatest asset, its mighty economy, from those who see it as its greatest evil.
The fiscal cliff was about un-sustainability in federal spending and liabilities. What happened last night did nothing to address either of those, just check off one of the political to-do’s of the radical leftist socialists.
Its very disappointing that the people who voted yes last night did so after taking an oath to defend this country from all enemies, foreign AND domestic.

Whoops, too late.
Its almost like Nancy Pelosi is still Speaker.
Hey John, its the spending you idiot. You suck at poker, now stop trying to gamble with the future of our Country. You’re playing with socialists, solving the problem is not their goal, socialism is. They’ll take whatever you give them that’s closer to Communism than Capitalism, so give them nothing.
If you don’t have the spine to do so, resign. You’ve done enough damage already.

I was already very “over” Congressman Kline & Paulsen, and now they are wetting the bed on taxes.
These 2 divas need to go find something else to do, like oh say, maybe building up the election machines in their districts so that we can retake the State House in 2012…. but that would be hard and these 2 prefer the path of least resistance.
Because its way easier to get good press about surrendering on raising taxes than it is to talk about the out of control spending. That’s right, spending that is so out of control that even if we took away took away every penny that the “rich” make next year, we’ll still not have a single year of a balanced budget. Then of course there is the dirty little secret that these rich people will find a way to avoid this tax increase. Its as simple as just not paying themselves as much as they are. They are rich afterall and don’t need all that money, so they just won’t pay themselves as much.
Which will then lead to the only real way to deal with paying for all the spending in Washington, middle class tax increases.
But nope, hey, let’s give the government even more money, which of course will reduce economic activity, which will cause more employment chaos….
The key to installing socialism upon an unsuspecting or unwilling population is creating enough chaos that they think the only hope is government.
Yes, Obama and the Democrats are trying to install socialism upon America. We’re in the Stalinist phase of the transformation right now. Baby steps. Progressives have been installing bits and pieces of socialism for decades.
And morons like Kline & Paulsen are more worried about getting elected than they are protecting the nation.

I sent this email to a critic today. I felt it appropriate to share for a wider viewing audience here on RF.
I’m not angry. You wouldn’t like to see me angry. But I understand that’s the standard issue talking point used against me. Started with Carey/Sutton/Brodkorb and continues on with the destroyers.
I’m not angry, I’m passionate for the conservative cause. I care so about it, the issues it stands for, so it pains me to see people wasting time, energy, and resources. And I say that from experience. I thought I could change the party back a few years ago, but I ended up making it worse by empowering Carey/Sutton/Brodkorb of staying in power. And here we are now with a party that can’t even afford field staff….
Perfect? Not me nor the party right now, but its what we have to work with and its better than the alternative. “Breaking” or destroying the party for the sake of revenge or simply to start from scratch is insanity.
I’m disappointed so many people think that complaining is activism. That meetings where a few people hold microphones and never bother to educate that crowd sitting listening on how to actually win elections… Or for BPOU leaders to think that their job wasn’t to elect their candidates. Or CD leaders that just simply shutter their districts like 4 & 5.
With power comes great responsibility.
If only those who could do something would do something rather than just bitch. Because its easy to bitch, again I can say that from experience. And the fact is that its easy to plan winning an internal party election. What takes true skill and work is winning a statewide election. That’s why the Ron Paul leaders have bailed on Bills. They point at the Romney endorsement, or Tampa, but they never were going to help him win. Its too hard. Instead its who is going to run for party chair, CD chars, BPOUs, etc.
Well what about November?
Look, I’m not doing what I do because I get paid, its all out of my own pocket. Its taking a toll on my health, my family, and my paying day job.
I’m doing what I am doing because no one else was. There was a cry for help and no one else was answering.
I’m not angry, I’m disappointed to see so many people wasting time running for party office elections to be held next year, plotting, planning, scheming, meeting to discuss how someone made them feel bad.
Me angry?
If you think this is me being angry I guess I am always angry.
But trust me I’ll be really angry if the few of us who do seem to care and are trying end up failing to pick up all the slack and Dayton buys his Legislature. Then you will see me be angry.
AAA
Look, just because we don’t talk about that 800 pound elephant in the corner, doesn’t mean that its not still there.

Deleted by me.
Nov 17th.
The orchestrated demise of the MNGOP
How some people are more interested in planning for conventions and their own elections as leaders than for winning elections for lawmakers.
But I deleted it because, well, we wouldn’t want to anger the people not showing up, now would we ?
After all, we have to be about the big tent and welcome these destroyers.
I now have to get to work work them give away another 30 or 40 hours of my personal evening and weekend time.

Do I even need to try to explain why this is quite literally the dumbest thing ever said by a Republican? Well, short of I have a wide stance, but still. In a time when conservtives are rallying against the socialist movement operating under the Occupy Walltreet banner. You think its wise for a struggling candidate to piss off the very people he can’t afford to lose?
No wait, it gets worse. Check out the fundraising email….
Klobuchar ads prove she is so proud to showcase rewarding her millionaire friends who max out to her campaign.
Think about it, Paul Walser makes millions and her bailout of him has made him even richer…while her vote for the largest middle class tax increase in American history hurts every day families and made them poorer.
I will be proud when we beat her by raising money $5, and $10 at a time. We can take our country back from crony capitalists like Klobuchar.
Read the release, and please consider a $5 or $10 contribution to my campaign.
Klobuchars’ millionaires’ bailouts should not be funded by taxing middle class families.
Your small sacrifice will send a loud message: WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH.

Kurt Bills
OMG.
My head is about to explode. How dare Walser be successful and try to save his business. The nerve. If you too want to make sure no one dares to get rich in America, vote for Kurt Bills.
Honest to God, you cannot seriously be OK with your name being associated with this Kurt. Please tell me that this is a wayward manager trying to through a hailmary from his own end zone, and that you truly don’t agree with the occupy wall street theology.
