CD6 Race: Pederson Out

Republican State Sen. John Pederson has announced he is withdrawing from the CD6 race.

Via email:

I have decided to end my candidacy for U.S. Congress.

This decision weighed heavily on me and my family, and was made after much reflection and consideration. The priorities in my life have always been my faith, family and friends, my co-workers, and the wider community. It has become apparent to me that I cannot continue this campaign and still balance my other priorities in life. Because of this conflict I have decided to withdraw my name from the race.

I would like to thank you for your unwavering support of my campaign. This decision is a personal choice, and is in no way a reflection upon the countless contributors and volunteers who have helped me these past six months.

I assure you that I will continue to serve Senate District 14 in Minnesota’s state legislature. My congressional campaign’s focus has always been about uniting all citizens to put our country on a path to prosperity. Our message of the merits of hard work and fiscal responsibility is one I believe still resonates with the majority of Minnesotans, and I promise to continue working for those values in state office.

Thank you for your steadfast support. Your help has been an inspiration to me and my family. I wish you good health and many blessings as we welcome in the New Year.
