Krinkie Enters CD6 Race

I broke the news Friday evening on Twitter, here is the PiPress story on his candidacy.

Former Republican state Rep. Phil Krinkie, a businessman and the president of the Taxpayers League of Minnesota, announced Friday that he will run for Minnesota’s 6th District congressional seat.

Krinkie made his first campaign appearance Saturday at the Sherburne County Fair in Elk River, where he formally announced his candidacy.

The 6th District is considered one of Minnesota’s most Republican-leaning districts. Former Republican gubernatorial nominee Tom Emmer, Anoka County Commissioner Rhonda Sivarajah and state Sen. John Pederson also are running for the seat.

On Saturday, Krinkie called Emmer and Sivarajah “friends and political allies.”
