"John McClane: You know what you get for being a hero? Nothin'. You get shot at. You get a little pat on the back, blah, blah, blah, attaboy. You get divorced. Your wife can't remember your last name. Your kids don't want to talk to you. You get to eat a lot of meals by yourself. Trust me, kid, nobody wants to be that guy.
Matt Farrell: Then why you doing this?
John McClane: Because there's no body else to do it right now, that's why. Believe me, if there were somebody else to do it, I'd let them do it, but there's not. So we're doing it.
Matt Farrell: Ah. That's what makes you that guy. "

I questioned her judgment.” Mr. Cheney went on: “The point I made and I’ll make it again is that Al Qaeda functions on the basis that they think they can break our will. That’s their fundamental underlying strategy, that if they can kill enough Americans or cause enough havoc, create enough chaos in Iraq, then we’ll quit and go home. And my statement was that if we adopt the Pelosi policy, that then we will validate the strategy of Al Qaeda. I said it, and I meant it.” (Vice President Cheney NYT Feb. 2007)

Fenton Seeking Reelection As MNGOP Deputy Chair

Her announcement

Dear Andy

Because you are currently a delegate or alternate to the State Central Committee, I wanted you to be the first to know my news.  I am pleased to announce my intent to run for re-election as Deputy Chair of the Republican Party of Minnesota.

My commitment is to you and supporting the election of officials who will preserve your economic freedoms in our state. I am committed to unseating Mark Dayton and Al Franken in 2014, in addition to regaining the Republican majority in the Minnesota House of Representatives.  I am confident our Party will be in a good spot for the 2014 election cycle and have high hopes that our agenda will see success, and in turn, we will be able to continue moving our Party forward.  This will require extensive fundraising, data management, and the delivery of a unified and quality message to Minnesotans – all of which I am fully prepared for.  It has been an honor to serve as your Deputy Chair, and I will strive to reach our shared goal of victory in 2014.

I serve our Party in multiple capacities as the Chairwoman and fundraiser for the Elephant Club, Personnel Committee Chair, on the Financial Control and Oversight Committee, and on the State Nominating Committee.  I also serve as the official party liaison to the State Legislature, and as the BPOU Coordinator and Trainer.

As Chairwoman of the Elephant Club, I have taken the lead in the planning of monthly meetings and building new membership. With this effort, fundraising numbers for the Elephant Club have seen a dramatic increase.

I look forward to working with all of you to continue to make a difference in all areas of our Party. As well, I look forward to working hard to earn your support in my re-election of Deputy Chair.  I am honored to have received and share the following endorsements.

Last year when our party faced challenges, Kelly stepped into the gap. Her knowledge, enthusiasm, and work ethic were critical to our financial recovery.  During her tenure as Deputy Chair, she has earned the trust of our grassroots activists as well as our donors.  As we look to a future focused on financial stability, principled messaging, and winning statewide elections, Kelly has the skills and experience to lead our party to long-term success.  It is an honor to support Kelly Fenton for re-election as Deputy Chair,” said Senator Michelle Benson.

Kelly sees the big picture — it’s about getting Republicans elected at all levels of government so we can move Minnesota in the right direction.  In her first term as Deputy Chair she’s worked hard, traveled the state, and laid the foundation for rebuilding our State Party.  She stepped up when no one else was willing,”said House Republican Whip Tim Sanders. “I’m proud to stand with Kelly Fenton for Deputy Chair.”

I have been impressed with Kelly’s ability to effectively build bridges and reach out to multiple groups in order to strengthen the party. She has demonstrated the leadership skills needed to work with long time activists and to help develop a new class of conservatives that are passionate about growing the Republican brand in Minnesota. Kelly’s work ethic is second to none and she is always striving to help. Her dedication to providing training for stronger BPOUs, creating action plans for candidates and working with activists is evident and is what the Republican Party of Minnesota needs as we redefine our party and push towards the 2014 elections,”said Mark Westpfal, 2nd Congressional District Chair and Inver Grove Heights School Board Member.

I am working hard every day to earn your support, and the support of new delegates and alternates, as I seek re-election to Deputy Chair.

Thank you for your ongoing devotion to our Party and its principles,

Kelly Fenton

RPM Deputy Chair
