I Doubt DOD & Petreaus Approved This Message
In House District 35B, I think Democrats recruited their candidate from the phone book. They found Sam Scott. I think their hope is that people get confused and think they are voting for Peggy Scott when they accidently vote for Sam Scott.
I happen to live in the new HD35B. I’m proud to have Rep. Peggy Scott running for reelection to represent me. She’s a smart, strong, and solid conservative Legislator who has won her previous elections easily.
PEGGY Scott. Peggy SCOTT is the Republican running in this solid red conservative District. PEGGY.
Northern Anoka County is solid red and it would take a miracle or giant hoax to get a Democrat elected in Andover. The DFL knows they don’t have a prayer here to get a Progressive tax and spend abortion supporting candidate elected here, so what do they do? They open up the phone book and start calling anyone with the last name Scott.
They found a veteran named Sam Scott. Now they couldn’t risk it, so they copied Peggy Scott’s signs.
All around town Sam Scott’s signs are popping up, everywhere, like that public right of way, that easement for a park or trail, that vacant lot, or other taxpayer owned corner. I’d be willing to bet that 75% or more of Sam Scott’s signs are not on private land of supporters.
I thank Sam Scott for his service to the country and I wish him well, I just don’t want him to win this election.
There are specific rules for military members in elections, one such thing that Erin Haust implied Pete Hegseth could face a court martial when he ran for the US Senate endorsement.
Which takes us back to that top picture. That’s a homemade billboard that was erected just East of Hanson Blvd on Hwy10 in Coon Rapids. Now I know Sam Scott knows the rules for the military since he uses the proper disclaimer on his website. (See footer at the bottom)
Use of his military rank, title and photograph in uniform does not imply endorsement by the Department of the Army or the Department of Defense.
Now the photo of Sam Scott & Gen. Partraeus is modified on the billboard. His campaign actually photoshopped in the names to look like timestamps.
Here’s the original from his website.
And from the billboard.
Same picture from the website where he used the disclaimer, but the billboard doesn’t. Notice they did modify the image to show exactly who is in the picture with Scott, a clear attempt to imply endorsement and approval.
I doubt that is legal.
Again, thank Sam Scott for his service and sacrifice, but ….

Definitely a violation of the regulations. The specifics of what you can and cannot do, as well as a generic ‘don’t do anything to imply support of the military’ rule. That is the one that barracks lawyers and real lawyers alike all try to get around by being too cute with the letter of the law.
This posting is insulting to veterans. If you insult one, you insult all. I am disgusted that you would support a non-veteran over a veteran, especially one who is friends with Gen. Petraeus.
