I see MNDOT is once again fiddling while Rome burns.
A couple weeks ago, while I was sitting in the parking lot MNDOT calls Hwy 35W northbound, I was passing under the bridge I normally drive on top of to get onto 35W. I had to run to Rosedale to pick up some new contacts so I was going under the County Rd. E2 bridge I normally drive on, not under.
Wood bridges over highways? Nah, can’t be….. I went back and checked it the next day. Sure enough, wood.
Note: I normally go on top of the E2 bridge to get onto 35W. I guessing hundreds if not thousands cross this bridge daily.
Well, in spite of their blind devotion to the boondoggle choo choos, the transportation department of Minnesota is now telling Vets to put their flags away….
Well, I’d have to say this bridge is structurally inefficient. Have a look. I grabbed some video and was going to get some good pictures, but if this is what MNDOT is doing with its time, I guess they could use a little help keeping us safe.
That “X” and all things between the 2 round pillars is wood. Yes wood. Like MNDOT ran to Home Depot grab some supplies to fix a concrete bridge.
I think MNDOT has more pressing things to worry about than flags. Here’s the video clip I snippet that pic out of. I took this video a few days after when I first noticed the wood.
I’ll try to get some better pictures tomorrow.
