Campaign 101… Or 100 to 1?
Last week I guestimated that Senator Klobuchar would have a 10 to 1 fundraising advantage.
D) Ron Paul suspended his campaign, where is all the support that was supposed to make up for the purge and uneasiness of the regular donor crowds? Or will that come after everyone in Minnesota has heard that Klobuchar is up 30 points on Bills already and has a 10 to 1 fundraising advantage?
Well I was a wee bit wrong. But I think we all would have preferred I was right. Turns out it was much much worse than I predicted for Kurt Bills when you look at the critical cash on hand less than 4 months out from the election statistic.
From The Morning Take email:
USSENATE: GOP candidate, state Rep. Kurt Bills raised $243K in the last quarter compared to $950K for Sen. Amy Klobuchar. Bills has $46K [Ed: see update below] cash on hand, while Klobuchar has $5.5 million to spend.
Klobuchar has a 119 to 1 cash on hand advantage…..
Update:
MPR has the Bills COH total as $64,000. That would still be 85 to 1 cash advantage for Klobuchar. Bills will have trouble even fueling up his 3 buses.

I believe Blois had a typo in the Morning Take and Bills actually has $64,000 on hand meaning it’s more like an 86-to-1 advantage in favor of Klobuchar. Total game changer.
Any minute now Congressman Ellison will file a complaint against Sen Klobuchar for having so much money in politics.
