Jobs Trump Bike Paths – Cravaack Right For CD8
For about 36 years, the Northeastern portion of Minnesota has been represented by a millionaire Marylander who thought the peasants back home just needed bike paths. Sure he tossed red meat to the union brass, but his party was vehemently opposed to utilizing the natural resources of the Iron Range to bring back jobs. I’m talking about former Congressman Jim Oberstar and the 8th District.
Chip Cravaack defeated Oberstar in 2010 and didn’t sit back and coast. He rolled up his sleeves and did what every good Congressman or woman should do, what’s best of the people in his District. Cravaack has fought the bureaucrats and entrenched powers in Washington which have crippled job creators and industries in Northern Minnesota.
He has worked to cut red tape, shorten permitting, and put Iron Rangers back to work. The fact is Congress can’t really create jobs, but it can reduce the red tape and regulations that prevent or cost us jobs.
Cravaack is doing such a great job at helping get the 8th District up and running again, that he received a major union endorsement.
The International Union of Operating Engineers Local 49 announced today that it is backing Republican Congressman Chip Cravaack for Congress. In a statement, the union said its members strongly supported the 8th district congressman over the three DFL candidates running to replace him.
