So On To 2014 Then?
Republican U.S. Senate candidate Kurt Bills told Morning in America radio host William Bennett this morning that he’s polling about 26 percentage points behind DFL Sen. Amy Klobuchar.
Bills touted his background as an economics teacher and said his standing will improve once voters get to know him.
A) You don’t admit on a conservative national radio show (IE the people who will help you raise money) that you are almost 30 points behind with under 4 months to go.
B) You can’t rest your hopes on people getting to know the real you when you are a Republican statewide candidate in Minnesota.
C) You have to raise money which requires showing confidence and a plan to win. Hoping that the Minnesota media will play fair is not a plan. Debating is not a plan.
D) Ron Paul suspended his campaign, where is all the support that was supposed to make up for the purge and uneasiness of the regular donor crowds? Or will that come after everyone in Minnesota has heard that Klobuchar is up 30 points on Bills already and has a 10 to 1 fundraising advantage?
This quarter’s fundraising will be the true story. If Bills hasn’t raised millions of dollars, he is done and the question will be will other Republicans and local party groups have to drop Bills’ name off calls and lit so he doesn’t drag down their candidates like an anchor.
(No, I am not going to let go how the endorsement was railroaded. I want people to remember how this happened so we don’t make this mistake again. You only get a chance to knock off liberal Senators every 6 years and the longer they are in, and the larger their margins are, only make I harder and harder the next time. )
I’ve sent advice to Bills off line to help. I was told to be careful as I may be blamed for the loss. But I am going to respond to media stories and use them to expose the not ready for prime time behavior and tactics of Bills’ campaign. Whoever is running Bills’ camp needs to be fired and replaced immediately before he takes down the Legislative candidates too. We can’t afford amateur hour at the top of the ticket.

What does it say that you can’t name the person “running” the Bills campaign? I can’t either, of course.
Once again, Residual Forces, you are correct. I would like Bills to win, but it appears his campaign managers don’t.
