"John McClane: You know what you get for being a hero? Nothin'. You get shot at. You get a little pat on the back, blah, blah, blah, attaboy. You get divorced. Your wife can't remember your last name. Your kids don't want to talk to you. You get to eat a lot of meals by yourself. Trust me, kid, nobody wants to be that guy.
Matt Farrell: Then why you doing this?
John McClane: Because there's no body else to do it right now, that's why. Believe me, if there were somebody else to do it, I'd let them do it, but there's not. So we're doing it.
Matt Farrell: Ah. That's what makes you that guy. "

Words To Live By
"The era of small government is over ... government has to be more proactive, more aggressive." ( Tim Pawlenty 2006)

"You're just petty politicians, who'd sooner sign onto the wisdom of a tyrant in another country, than the demands of ticked off voters in your own." (Neil Cavuto June 2008)

“I didn’t question her patriotism. I questioned her judgment.” Mr. Cheney went on: “The point I made and I’ll make it again is that Al Qaeda functions on the basis that they think they can break our will. That’s their fundamental underlying strategy, that if they can kill enough Americans or cause enough havoc, create enough chaos in Iraq, then we’ll quit and go home. And my statement was that if we adopt the Pelosi policy, that then we will validate the strategy of Al Qaeda. I said it, and I meant it.” (Vice President Cheney NYT Feb. 2007)

"A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers. (Ronald Reagan March 1, 1975)

"Oh, no! First of all, if I took one vote away from a serious candidate, it would be a sin." (Al Franken Time Magazine, 9/1/03)

St. Cloud & MNGOP – Where is the Leadership

What is going on in St. Cloud? I don’t mean to cast stones here, but it is a variable madhouse up there.

First there is outrage when the state party gets involved in the Mayor’s race, and (ahem) helps him win. (So much for the help since there were people from all over the state there.)

I’m sure we’ve all heard about Sue Ek’s residency questions. (The hearing is tomorrow, I’m waiting to cast judgement until then.)

Now its seems that the Senate Candidate Dan Ochsner is being accused of photoshopping campaign pictures for his brochures. This was brought to my attention via email.

What exactly is going on right now with the MNGOP & SD15?

Where is the leadership? The oversight? The vetting? The coordination? We cannot afford to lose one single seat in the Legislature, and now it appears, that just like St. Paul & Minneapolis last month, there won’t even be a Republican candidate on the ballots December 27th.

I am raising this as at the hope that someone “in the know” would contact me and set me straight if needed. Or go up there and fix it. Or is this the result of “staying out of” local party decisions? The State Party is afraid to openly admit that Kennedy is the GOP Candidate for Senate for fears of “kingmaking”(come on, the 6th fine there is a race, but Shudlick?). Will the State Party now take a hands off role when mistakes as bad as this are so clear? Should I be worried about them writing off districts with leadership issues?

Well, you know what, some one has to take charge here. The buck either stops somewhere.

I’m busy today with snow removal, but if anyone at GOP HQ reads this, I want to talk to some one who knows what is going on. You have my info. Call me! SD15 people as well, correct me if I am out of line.

I have to be honest, I am very worried about this. Is this a sign of things to come state-wide next year?

For those of you who hate it when I post this kind of stuff, have at it on the previous post.
